QUESTION: I am 26-years-old and have had two c-sections. I was wondering if there’s anything I can do to tone my tummy without losing weight?
AMANDA’S ADVICE: I was going to direct you to the previous posts, as there seems to be an overwhelming amount of questions about toning the midsection and I have answered a lot of questions about it. However, I did want to address one of your concerns and assure you that you can indeed tone your body without losing weight. It’s a matter of redistributing and/or replacing body fat with muscle. You can begin by lowering the amount of carbs and sugar you consume and you will begin to see a difference in the areas of concern. Also, keep in mind that whenever you exercise or do cardio, you are engaging your ab muscles. I would be careful doing isolating exercises (like crunches) if your last c-section wasn’t that long ago. It might be a bit painful.
