Pediatrician Dr. Wanda Lopez – "Is A Fever Common When Babies Start Teething?"

QUESTION: My 7-month-old son already has 2 bottom teeth. Is a fever common when babies start teething?

DR. LOPEZ’ ADVICE: Teething should not cause a fever. What happens a lot is that the babies have a viral illness along with the teething and the fever is from the viral illness. If your baby has a fever and no other symptoms I would have him checked.

Take care,
