**Winners** 50,000 SoLatina Facebook Fans Contest

We’re very proud to announce the winners of our 50,000 SoLatina Facebook Fans Contest. Each person had to submit a paragraph about how SoLatina has impacted their day-to-day life. We got A LOT more entries than we thought we were going to get. It was extremely hard to choose 4 winners. We actually had to pick 5 because it was too hard to narrow it down to just 4 winners. If you were not picked as one of the winners, it’s not because we didn’t like your entry. There were just a few that really stood out from the rest. We want to thank EVERYONE who entered.

So enough of the talking already…lol. And the 5 winners are….

5th Place

“I am a 34-year-old single mother of 5 beautiful children. While I know I’m not the only single mother out there facing the many problems life throws at me, sometimes it feels that way. Sometimes moreso in the small town I live in where it seems that all I see are families staying together. SoLatina has been a refreshing comfort to me because it helps me to see that I’m not the only single mother out here struggling and wondering if I’m doing the right thing or not. Reading the different posts made by all my different sisters out there all over the world helps me because I don’t feel so alone as I once did. Making comments on someone’s post also helps me to vent and find my own closure on something I’ve been pensive about, as well. Sometimes even by posting on someone’s question helps me share my own life’s experiences by sharing advice with someone who may be entering a phase of their life that I have already passed through. I feel I am now part of a sisterhood that I have never been privileged to before. SoLatina has impacted my life because it has given me a venue in which I can find the answers that press my heart and somewhere I can find solace and peace. If nothing else, all I can say is thank you.”

“SoLatina has helped me realize that every Latino mom in the US struggles and it’s usually about similar things, just different backgrounds. I’m Peruvian and it does not make me different. We all struggle with “baby daddies”, “child support”, “our queridas madres”, “customs”, “money”, “school” and, of course, the most important, how to raise our children. Every time I read a blog it brings me back to reality that I’m NOT the only one going through it. I’m glad I found this page. The resources that you guys have are really helpful and, of course, greatly appreciated. It starts from lawyers to cosmetologists, I mean what else can you ask for basically. With one son, one on the way, full time work, being a wife and trying to go back to school, I don’t have the time or the money to go talk to a lawyer or a psychologist. Which at some point of my life I needed them so bad. All I can say its THANK YOU for being there and supporting us in every possible way. Sometimes being “super mama” is hard and you guys help us get through it. All I have to do every day is open my FB and read anything new you guys have. Once again thank you and keep it up!”

“SoLatina has impacted me in the way that if I ever have a doubt or am not sure what to do in difficult situations, all I gotta do is post my question up on the SoLatina page and I have different women from around the world help me out with pieces of advice. Because sometimes at home you’re not quite understood by your family or your significant other. The SoLatina page has made me realize that there are girls out there that may be going through the same thing as me and in that situation, when it comes to a question, we could both help each other out. It doesn’t matter what age you are or what place you come from, at the end of the day we’re all woman and we need to help each other out. It has also changed my life in the way that now I can ask questions without been afraid to be judged or pointed at. It has won my trust and has given me confidence to help other women out. Thank you SoLatina for making this page. You don’t know how many women you have helped out, including myself. Gracias”

2nd Place

“SoLatina. Well, I don’t know where to start. On a day-to-day basis your page and blogs have affected me in the most positive way. From knowing about female intuition to taking care of your persona as a female, and the best advice from mothers to mothers-to-be. I remember the day that my friend told me about your Facebook page. She clearly told me to “add this page Marisol. It talks about life and mainly subjects that affect women on a daily basis, and how to cope and solve issues that make our day-to-day living stressful”. Since the day that I added your page, I have learned that although I have a lot of flaws, I also am a women that is made of skin and bones. I am not made out of stone. There is always a solution and a way. More importantly, I learned to give myself respect and give respect to those who deserve it. I am thankful for having a friend that cared so much as to tell me about your page. Thanks to her I am more knowledgeable. I am a soon-to-be mommy and hopefully when my child does arrive, it will be easier with the advice that I have read from the site professionals like Dr. Wanda Lopez and Dr. Angelica Perez to list some. And the bloggers, too. Let’s not forget them. They are wonderful. The talks are great. So in conclusion, SoLatina, thank you for the opportunity to express my thoughts about how great and useful your page is. More than any reward I am just happy to know that you have taken a moment to listen to me. God bless.”

“Sometimes I always wondered why things happened to me. I felt cursed in a way like if every time I had a chance to smile, something evil would see me and go get me. Becoming a SoLatina fan made me realize that I’m not alone. Even though I struggle, there are other moms also doing the same. Here I don’t feel alone or misunderstood. This page helps me learn about raising kids, keeping it cool and also look good while doing it. It’s my therapy to get to my next day and not giving up. I can’t live without SoLatina! This page saved me from myself ’cause I felt like I was about to go crazy. Thanks to all the blogs, it helped me realize that life can be better if we keep being positive and never give up.”
